We are committed to providing a secure and supportive environment in which students can develop and continue their maturity as responsible citizens. Safeguarding children is an essential part of our holistic approach. We want to ensure that children are protected from abuse and neglect and that every child reaches their full potential. Safeguarding is at the heart of our vision and mission. In order for us to create stories that change the world, by a diverse generation of creatives, we need to protect all aspects of their identity. We need to nurture their talent so that they can confidently produce diverse and impactful stories. This need to protect and nurture our student talent helps us fulfil our mission and work towards our vision.

At LSA we accept that protection and nurture requires us to be exceptionally nuanced with regards to safeguarding. This includes embracing LSA’s Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) work, where we not only celebrate and cultivate our diverse talent - but we also train and educate staff and students. This training will help our community to recognise why some groups are potentially more vulnerable than others - particularly in relation to the industry. These vulnerable groups are essential to LSA’s goals, due to our mission. Therefore, safeguarding is central to LSA’s day to day operations.
